Manage your account online
To check your account online you can access your account from the Library’s Online Catalog here. Select My Account at the top of the screen. You will be prompted for your library card number and PIN.  To update the contact information on your account, please visit any Torrance Public Library location and present your photo identification.
Check your account over the phone
You may check your account over the phone by calling 310-618-5969 during regular business hours. Please have your Library card number and PIN (personal identification number; the last four digits of your phone number) ready.
Telephone Renewal
To renew your library materials by phone during, before, and after Library hours, call 310-618-2785 and select option 1 for the Library's automated system. You must have your Library card number and PIN (the last four digits of the telephone number you provided to the Library when you registered).
Smartphone and Tablet Apps

You may also manage your account using BookMyne. BookMyne is a free SirsiDynix Smartphone and Tablet App. Download it from the App Store for free. Once you have downloaded the App on your device, the phone's GPS will find BookMyne-compatible libraries near you. You can also search Libraries by name. After selecting one of the Torrance Libraries, you can log in with your Library Card Number and PIN and perform basic catalog and account functions (search the catalog, place holds, check your account, and renew materials).

Loan Periods

Library card holders are responsible for all materials checked out on their card. If a library card is lost or stolen, please report it to the library immediately.

The library has established the following policies for the use of library materials:

  • Standard Loan Period – 21 days
  • DVD and Video Loan Period – 7 days
  • Renewals – cardholders may renew items a maximum of two times if there are no holds pending
  • Limit on number of items checked out:
    • Adults – 50
    • Teens/Children – 50
    • DVDs – 50
    • eBooks – 6
  • Notices
    • As a courtesy, Email Due Soon reminders are sent 3 days before item is due.
    • Email Overdue notices are sent 7, 14, and 21 days after item is due.
    • Physical Overdue notices are sent through the mail 21 days after item is due.

 Library materials may not be checked out to cardholders whose fines exceed $25.00.

Library cards are valid for three years and can be renewed at no charge
when you bring in your existing library card to any Torrance Library
